Obituary of Lecky McQuaid

Peacefully but suddenly at his home in Charlottetown on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 John Alexius “Lecky” McQuaid passed away, after battling numerous medical conditions, at the age of 68 years.  

Beloved husband of 48 years to Shirley McQuaid (Stewart). Loving father of Mark (Angie MacFadyen). Cherished grandfather of Owen MacFadyen. Best friend to Tazz. Lecky is survived by his grandmother, Marjoie Somers and will be missed by his siblings Frankie (Nancy), Anne Barratt, Barbara Cudmore (Bobby, deceased), Sheila McKinnon (John), Jim (Clare), Darlene Forrest, Joey (Val) and Eddy (Jeannine). Predeceased by his parents, Alexius and Lila McQuaid (Somers), parents in law Marion (Jenkins) and David Stewart; brother in law Gregory Stewart and siblings Billy, George, Carl, Elizabeth Hennan, Bev Leach, Elaine Pierce and Jennifer McQuaid.

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home from where a Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 10 a.m.  Visiting hours Monday 4- 7 p.m. 

Interment will take place later at the Birchill Cemetery, Mt. Albion. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made online to PEI Humane Society or the Birchill Cemetery.
