My sympathies to all of Jean’s family. Jean and my Dad, Jim Yeo, we’re first cousins. Jean’s Father, Edgar’s and my Dad’s Mother , Rebecca, were siblings. Many a Sunday was spent at The Mills cottage on the South Shore and what a fun loving bunch they were. Ralph and Hazel also had a cottage in the same area. Back in the day, long before TV, we would always enjoyed all the stories which left us all in awe. May you remember all the good times and hope they will bring some peace, in these difficult times.

Dear Bev, Arlene, Derek, and families, Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your dear mother, Jean. As you know she was a close friend of my late husband's Gordon's mother, Myrtie. Jean, Eddie, Myrtie, and Art were legends of how well to live in their time. They cared for their families and loved ones and made time for each other. Their membership in the R.C.A.F. Club was a bond and they included everyone in all of their activities. Jean exemplified the secret of a wonderful life - family, friends, and fun. I'll always remember her bright, shining eyes and her welcoming smile filled with interest in our lives. Rest in peace, Jean. Best, Joanne MacRae

The world has lost a beautiful woman. I first met Jean and Eddie over forty years ago while visiting Bev and was welcomed with open arms, kindness and love. I am very grateful for the many visits thereafter both on PEI and in Nova Scotia, and have so many warm memories of all the fun we shared. When I didn’t make it to the Island for my usual annual visit one year, Jean wrote to me in her Christmas card, “don’t ever let that happen again”!
Jean will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune to knew her and will always be remembered for her love, kindness, intelligence, elegance, devotion to family and friends, and without doubt, her fabulous sense of style. May she rest in eternal peace.
With love and deepest sympathy to Bev, Arlene, Deryck, and all the family, Flora Buchan

Wonderful photo Dear Bev.
Well... The end of an era for certain. Jean was the last elder of our shared half century of family history. I have wonderful memories of your mom. Among which is a clear set of sensations around my introduction as a teenager to cottage cheese! Jean was pleased that I took to a sample of her lunch - cottage cheese with salt, pepper and vinegar - with such gusto!
Mostly I remember the great friendship between our parents. What a joy they were for each other: Jean, Eddy, Helen and Cecil. A wonderful match.
Was it Mom pushing Jean in the shopping cart by the pool in Florida? Or was Mom in the cart being pushed by Jean? I never did ask how one or the other actually got in thei cart! They were well both well into their sixties then I think. Fearless they were and very silly they could be.
All four much missed.
We were blessed.
My heart goes out to you, Deryck, Alene and Michael.
