Kirsten and family.. am saddened that Tom has passed. We enjoyed many visits to your home with meals and snacks and friendship all around good company. You two also visited us at our Christmas drop ins.. Tom and I climbed a few mountains in Maine and NB plus many walks on the Island trails.....We had many a chat... Many years ago Tom and I worked at the PEI dept. of Development. It was amusing that our staff meetings were then filled with cigarette smoke and Tom sat just out side the board room door to keep smoke free-- ahead of his time.
Tom was smart and I appreciated his company and friendship..
My condolences

Kirsten, Nils, Hans and families: my deepest sympathy. As a founding member of Trails4All, Tom encouraged us to walk and thereby appreciate the wonders of nature. For Tom's walking companions that often meant bushwhacking and crawling under barbed wire to search and then follow the old train routes. Throughout the seasons I can look outside to see Tom's friendly squirrel stone sculpture that I acquired at one of his exhibitions.

Along with all our family, I rejoice at great memories of visits through the years, in the US and Canada, with Uncle Tom and family. Most recently, there was a wonderful family reunion on PEI with all of us before the Covid pandemic hit. There are lots of great stories. Tom was involved in Island life, and made several contributions to education, sculpture, and square dancing. PEI was a fortunate place indeed for a young doctoral graduate to land, and make a home for his family in the glorious red soil near to the ocean breezes. We will miss you Uncle Tom!

Dear Kirsten, Nils, Hans and families,
We were so saddened to hear of the passing of this great and treasured man, a friend to so many over the years. We always admired how present Tom was to you Kirsten, and how much he valued you and the family along with your eclectic abilities and fun loving nature. What a dynamic, caring, strong, passionate, aware, committed, hard working, altruistic, generous and fun loving couple - you both have so many skill sets - no better models in the world for the rest of us. We were so looking forward to seeing both of you during our next trip - but there it is - another strong lesson to do what we can today as it is the only time we surely have.
There is no doubt Tom will live on in all the stories that we will all keep sharing. A dear friend over so many years. He will be missed. With so much love and sadness, Judy and Greg

It is of considerable sadness that we are sending our message along to you, Kiersten, Nils, Hans and families to convey our condolences to you.
We’ve been thinking a lot of you and Tom of late and this obviously is the reason. Covet has made it very hard to keep in touch.
Tom was without a doubt my favourite Supervisor. I learned a lot from him while working with him. He was a joy to me and will be missed for sure.
