Obituary of Barendina deJonge

Peacefully at Andrews of Charlottetown on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 the death occurred of Barendina “Diana” deJonge (nee Hardeman) of Charlottetown, formerly of Millview, aged 86 years. 

 

Wife of the late, Meeuwis Ferdinandus (Fred) deJonge.  Loving mother of Sharon (Lammert) Wolters, Millcove; Patti (Paul) Larsen, Mt. Buchanan; Catharine (Ian) Catherall, Wendouree, Victoria, Australia; Peter (Krista) deJonge, Calgary; and Kevin (Jennifer) deJonge, Calgary.  Cherished grandmother of Dirk-Lammert (Stephanie Calberry) Wolters, Matthias (Lydia) Wolters, Katrina (Brad) McCarthy, Eli (Katie) Wolters, Daniel (Reina Talen) Larsen, Micah Larsen, Petra (Serdar Gürtuğ) Larsen, Matthew Catherall, Andrew Catherall, Ryan Catherall, Billy Catherall, Samantha Catherall, Nathan deJonge, Luke deJonge, Joel deJonge and Harrison deJonge and Linika deJonge.  Great-grandmother of Kemuel, Silas, Moriah, Boaz, Arabella and Adalyn Wolters.  Diana will be missed by siblings; Effie Smits, Winnie Butyn, George (Liz) Hardeman, Lucy Baldree, Brian (Helen) Hardeman, Ernie (Rita) Hardeman, Albert (Kelly) Hardeman, Jack (Margaret) Hardeman, Nick (Carrie) Hardeman, brother-in-law Marty Morrison and sister-in-law Sjaan deJonge.  Predeceased by her siblings: Roefje (Adrian Sr) Droogers, Georgina (Piet) Van't Hof, Wilma (Ken) Devine, Erna (Floyd) Corbett, Jeannie Morrison, brothers-in-law: Jake Smits, Hendrik Butyn, Bobby Baldree, Ferdinandus (Corrie) deJonge, Peter deJonge and sisters-in-law: Marie (Frans) Dekker, Briena (Piet) Van Cadzand and Lineke (Jas) Koster. 

 

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford PEI.  A funeral service will be celebrated from the Charlottetown Christian Reformed Church Friday, April 29 at 2 p.m.  Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 – 8 p.m. 

 

Interment will take place at the St. Andrew’s United Church Cemetery, Vernon Bridge.
