To my DeJonge cousins and their families, sending sincere condolences to you all. It was such shocking news to hear of Tante Dina’s passing and she will be so missed. She always had a smile and a hug for everyone. I remember spending a week at the farm in Fingal, and we were allowed to do things we weren’t allowed, or able to at home. For example, throwing hay down from the hay mow for the beef cattle, helping wth the laundry in the wringer washing machine, baking cake and making icing with a stand electric mixer! These chores were fun times! Or having rags tied to our feet and running and sliding on the hardwood floors! Actually, we were polishing the floors but not knowing this, it was such fun!
So many wonderful memories and I’m sure you all will have your own special moments to draw strength from during this sad time. Know that you are not alone in your grief.
