My family is very sad to learn of Mike's passing. My two sons, Campbell and Brecken, were on his bus and say he was very friendly and kind (never yelling even when he had reason to be annoyed!). Campbell liked to sit at the front and chat with Mike during the drive, and really enjoyed spending time with him. Our condolences to Mike's family and friends. May he rest in peace.

I'm in grade 11, Mike has been my bus driver since kindergarten. I remember meeting him on my first day of school, he was the reason I wasn't scared to go on that very scary first day. He was so kind and funny and just all around jolly that I remember thinking "if the bus driver is this kind, the rest of people that work at the school must be as well." He made the loud, hot, long bus rides so much happier and brighter, cracking jokes on the intercom and always picking up and dropping off kids with a smile and a laugh. He would always play music, would turn it up or down, or change the station upon request. He always decorated the inside of the bus with fun holiday themed stickers. That bus always truly made the holidays. He would give us candy on the days before breaks. Every morning I get on that bus expecting to see Mike, the same face I've seen every morning for the past 12 years. I almost break out into tears when I see a face I don't recognize, and remember all over again that Mike has moved on. I want his family to know that his "kids" loved him just as much as he adored them. Rest in peace Mike and my heart goes out to his family who brings just as much light and joy as he did. <3

Helen and I send our sincere condolences to Nancy and all family memebers. Mike was, simply put, just absolutely, a great guy from the time we camped together in high school, to his farming days and throughout his whole life. Oh, how he loved the tractor pulls ( he didn't exactly speed up the track). Canada has lost one of its best.

I want to express my sympathy. May God comfort and strengthen each of you at this sad and difficult time ...and may He grant you His peace.
I've known Mike since he and his family relocated from (Hartland ?) New Brunswick to Hampshire, PEI ...around (and I'm guessing...1963). Although he and I never spent much time together, I believe we would consider one another as good friends.
Hugs...and MOORE hugs.

My condolences to Mike's wife & family. Mike was a long-time friend of my mom's Hampshire-area Younker family. I got to know Mike as a colleague & a friend as Queens County Highway Depot-based school bus drivers for the Public Schools Branch. Mike shared stories of my great-grandparents & grandparents that I'd never heard before. -- brought back lots of great memories. Mike ALWAYS looked out for both his kids & his fellow drivers. Need to get your bus on to North River Road at 3:25PM? Wish you had a ride bus parking lot <----> staff parking lot on a miserable weather day? Mike always had our backs & kept us in good spirits. His morning shuttle this past Friday was, as it was daily, full of teasing & laughter. Going to miss you Mike!

Mike, you will always be a part of my childhood memories of days and weeks spent on the farm, first in Woodstock, then on the Island. I remember that on Sunday, when our family would regularly drive from Fredericton to Upper Woodstock, after supper, your mom (my Aunt Emmy) would say, “Mike why don’t you go saddle up Patchey and let Anna have a ride.” Never once did you complain, although I am sure you had many other things you would have rather done! I was always amazed at how you could leap up bareback y grabbing his mane, and you and Patches would fly up the lane to go bring the cows in for milking. I remember you daring me with a long piece of grass to touch the electric fence. Zzzz. Yep. Fence is on! And I remember you trying to teach me how to milk a cow, how to tie up a cows tail with a piece of baler twine, and your perfect aim streaming milk right into a waiting kitten’s mouth. I also remember when Sharon and I thought we were doing such a good job washing your car. In the direct sunlight. Apparently we left a few streaks! But you didn't totally lose it. Good on you! And we learned (a) wash a car in the shade, and (bj don’t touch Mike’s car!
I am so glad we (with my sisters Barb and Gerry) got to visit with you at Craig’s a couple of years ago. Family ties are strong, thanks to our moms.
To my cousins who have lost a brother, to Nancy, Craig, and Michelle, I hope my memories bring you a smile. He will be missed by many, and always loved.

I wish to extend heartfelt sympathy to Michael's family. Although I had not seen him since high school days, his gracious manner and outgoing personality were not lost on me. I am not surprised that he drove a school bus after his retirement, interacting with young people and demonstrating such a positive lifestyle.
May God's affirming presence be felt by all who cared about Mike, and do so now with his loved ones.
Respectfully,
