Obituary of Mary Theresa McInnis

Mary “Reg” Theresa McInnis (nee Rooney), formerly of China Point Road, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter with family by her side on Monday, April 17, 2023, age 96 years.  

Beloved wife of the late Reg McInnis and loving mother of May Trainor (Vernon), Patsy Carmichael (Adrian), Fred (Mary Ellen), Cathy Murnaghan (Tom), Bill McInnis (Julie), and Mary Paula VanRooyen (John).  Cherished grandmother of 21 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.  Survived by her sisters-in-law Frances McInnis and Patricia McInnis.  Fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews as well as her lifelong friend and yard sale buddy Wanda Ings.  Mary is predeceased by her parents Jack and Lil (Dreelan) Rooney, infant grandson Albert Duncan and siblings Ida Morrisey (Alphonsus), Michael, Leo (Mary), Bill (Julia), Patricia Kluke (Tony), Jim (Joan), Dorothy Kennedy (Alton), Georgina Lecour (Glen), and John (Dorothy). 

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home from where visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. The Catholic Women's League members will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Friday at 4:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Joachim’s Church, Vernon River. Interment will take place in St. Joachim’s Parish Cemetery.
