Obituary of Edward Omar Cheverie

The death occurred peacefully at the Prince Edward Home on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 of Omar Cheverie, formerly of Souris, age 94 years. Loving husband of Bertha (Gallant) Cheverie. Loving father of Debbie, Randy (Jeanette MacAulay), Vonda Laffin (Mike), son-in-law Barry Bellfontaine and brother Ronald (Butch) Cheverie (Fran). Grandfather of Danielle Cheverie (Nick Nauta), Madelon Cheverie (Paul Trainor) and Ian Cheverie, Craig Bellfontaine (Celyeste) and Kristin Bellfontaine and Maia and Breanna Laffin. Great-Grandfather of Lillian, Ellis and Nora Trainor. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter Dale Bellfontaine, brother Peter Cheverie and sisters - Anne Kelly, Alice Auger and Edna Ballem. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation on Sunday, July 28, 2019, from 4-7 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 29, 2019 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Stratford at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held later at Our Lady of the Assumption Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Prince Edward Home would be appreciated.
