Obituary of Leonard John Ward

With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Leonard (Len) John Ward of Stratford, PE on July 3rd, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife Donna Smith and beloved sister Tina (Ward) MacLeod. Len had a passion for photography, loved exploring new places and discovering new things. He worked for the federal government for 32 years where he served as a technical specialist where his progressive thinking, love of new technology and ability to mentor was greatly appreciated. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, generosity and independent spirit. He was a life-long fan of the Montreal Canadians and of motor sports. He was adventurous with food and drink and loved nothing more than laughing with friends over drinks. He leaves behind nephews Matt and James, niece Allie, parents in law Bob and Doreen Smith, Brother in law David and Sister in Law Nancy. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Marie Ward. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford. Visiting hours on Monday 4-6 pm. There will be a memorial service at the Hillsboro Funeral Home – Stratford Chapel on Tuesday at 10:30 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
