Obituary of Stan Peardon
Stan (Brother) Peardon passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Centre on September 23, 2022, aged 79. He left us before Hurricane Fiona hit, ensuring his family was home before the wind and rain started – he just would have worried.
Stan wasn’t much for putting on airs and graces, so we assume he’d want his obituary to reflect that. He treated his animals with the respect they deserved and had great respect for people who did the same. It helped if those people could spin a yarn and knew where he could get a great deal on a good horse. Most importantly, Stan loved his family greatly and was greatly loved in return.
Beloved husband of 55 years to Mary (LeLacheur). Best dad ever to David and Cathy (Rob Edwards). Adored Pop to Deanna (Dan Konecny), Nat, and Caroline. Cherished older brother to Faye (Vince MacLean), Heather (Larry Dixon), Brian (Shirley), Cheryl (Michael Grosvold), and Janice (Ernie Jamieson). Step-pop to Amanda, Aaron, and Mirranda. Brother-in-law to Jean Ward and Ruth Craswell. Respected and loved “Uncle Brother '' to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son David, infant daughter Nancy, parents Stan and Dot, and eldest brother Keith.
Stan could talk hockey, horses (big and small), oxen, current events, movies, and music. He had a dry-wit and knew how to time a one-liner. Remembering those conversations, the wit, and the one-liners will keep us smiling through the tough times.
By Stan’s strict orders there will be no wake or funeral service. We know he would appreciate you honouring him by giving your pet an extra treat, taking a walk in the woods, or playing a game of crokinole or Crazy 8s with your family.
Arrangements entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
