Obituary of William Benedict Griffin

Peacefully and surrounded by family at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, August 22, 2022 the death occurred of William Benedict Griffin of Charlottetown, age 86 years.  

Beloved husband of Florence (Grimes).  Loving father of William (Dianne), Andrew and Shane. Grandfather of Shaelyn (Luke Henman), Jaden, Dana Mitchell (Brian). Great grandfather of Austin and Lauren. William will be missed by his brothers; Leo Griffin (Denise) and Dunstan Griffin (Nancy). Brother-in-law of Earl Acorn and Iva Griffin. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents Maurice and Mary Edith (Trainor) Griffin, brother Vincent “Hank” and sister Sonia Acorn.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 2pm from the Holy Redeemer Church. A reception will follow the Funeral Mass at the Jack Blanchard Centre.  No visiting hours by request.

The Funeral Mass will be available for viewing Friday, August 26, 2022 at 6:00 pm.

Interment will take place at St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery, Fort Augustus. 

Memorial donations may be made online to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation.
