Obituary of Art Mitchell

Peacefully at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, February 20, 2022 the death occurred of John Arthur “Art” Mitchell of Fort Augustus, age 61 years. 

Beloved husband of Teresa May McGuirk.  Loving father of Stephanie Mitchell (Jeff Lecky).  Lovingly remembered by his sisters; Mary Affleck (Carter), Chrissy Murphy (Jimmy), Kathy Feehan (Lenny), Tammy Mitchell (Brady), Jacqueline Mooney (Timmy) and brothers; Bobby Mitchell and Jimmy Mitchell (Gena).  Art will be missed by mother-in-law Rita McGuirk, brothers-in-law Jeff McGuirk, David McGuirk (Diane), Danny McGuirk (Doreen), James McGuirk (Stacey), sisters-in-law; Lorraine Pitre (Louis), Linda Griffin (Mike) and Cathy McGuirk (Hal), numerous nieces and nephews and his fur babies Ollie and Phinley.  Predeceased by his parents John and Kathleen (Affleck) Mitchell and father-in-law Ralph McGuirk. 

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford.  Due to current restrictions, there will be no visitation and a private (invitation only) funeral service will be held. 

Interment will take place later at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fort Augustus.
