Obituary of James Henry Glover

Peacefully at Beach Grove Home on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 the death occurred of James H. Glover of Charlottetown, age 83 years.

Beloved husband of 61 years to Jean Catherine (Tough). Loving father of Karen Hennessy (Mike), Lynne Moug (Ted) and Kenny. Proud grandfather of Patrick and Stephen Hennessy; Katie Marchant (Sean), Jessica, Hannah and Emma Moug. Great-grandfather of Henry and Poppy Marchant. Jim will be missed by his siblings Max (Fran) and Edith MacLauchlan (Norman) and brother in law Gilles Dion.  Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents David and Elizabeth (MacDonald) Glover and siblings Bill, Leroy, Elmer (Mildred), Maurice, John, Emma Buckler (George), Lillian Dion and also his grandson Ryan Moug.

Jim was born on and spent his childhood at the family farm in Hopefield, PEI. As a young adult Jim left the farm to pursue a business career as a CPA with several companies in Nova Scotia and PEI. After retiring from the corporate world Jim developed his hobby of carpentry and fine woodworking into a second career in home and commercial construction in Halifax and northern Alberta. Jim and Jean returned home to PEI in 2001 where he continued his construction career. Upon their return to PEI Jim and Jean also poured their energy into creating Life Bridge, providing intellectually challenged adults with a home focused on living independently with support. Life Bridge is now under the umbrella of Queen’s County Residential Services. Jim also enjoyed music (attending concerts, playing guitar and mandolin) and frequenting dances with Jean. Jim relished spending time with his family which spans from coast to coast.

Throughout Jim’s working years and his various positions in accounting and carpentry, he always maintained the highest level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
