Obituary of Agnes Loretta Mitchell

Peacefully and surrounded by her family at The Mount Continuing Care Community on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 the death occurred of Agnes Loretta Mitchell (Hughes) of Charlottetown, formerly of Fort Augustus, age 90 years.  

 

Loving mother of Judy Hughes (Wendell), Debbie Dunn (Vince), Charmaine McGuigan (Allan), Aletha Power (Bobby), Robert (Bonnie), Michelle Mitchell (Chris) and special nephew Danny Kilbride.

 

Cherished grandmother of Laura Lee, Renee, Lori Anne, Shane, Derek, Lacey, Ashley, Mandy, Melissa, Tyler, Emily, Robyn, Alexis, Ryan, Jordan, Brandon, Megan, Mitchell and Chandler. Great-grandmother of Kyle, Logan, Hannah, Emma, Brock, Justin, Will, Sam, Kennedy, Greyson, Ayla, Connor, Logan, Taylor, Mila, Shaelyn, Claire, Allie, Emily, Caleb, Azelyn, Tabor, Messer, Elliotte, Emmett, Winston, Stevie, Callie and Jessie. Great-great grandmother of Tenley and Lakelyn. Agnes will be missed by her brother Charles Hughes. Predeceased by her parents James and Mary (Ostridge) Hughes; husband Clarence; son Charles and twin daughters Mary and Kathleen; parents-in-law George and Kathleen (McGuirk) Mitchell; brothers Elmer (Della), Gerald, Harry (Margaret); sisters Helen Kilbride (Gus), Hazel Feehan (Jim), Charlotte Dalton (Chester); sister-in-law Audrey Hughes; sons-in-law Reggie Hughes and Leo McNally.

 

Agnes was a graduate of the Central School of Nursing, a lifetime member of the St. Patrick's and St. Pius X Catholic Women's League and an Associate member of Notre Dame Sisters.

 

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford.  Due to current restrictions, a private visitation and funeral service will be held.  Agnes’s family will contact you with your invitation.

 

Interment will take place at St. Patrick’s Parish Cemetery, Fort Augustus PEI.

 

Memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick’s Cemetery Fund.
