Obituary of Cheryl Elizabeth Duffy

Cheryl Elizabeth Duffy (Barrington) of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the age of 55 years after a brief battle with cancer.  

 

Cheryl was a 30 year veteran of the RCMP in various detachments across PEI and during her time with the RCMP Major Crimes Unit, Cheryl was awarded the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal. Cheryl was a very community minded person and was instrumental in forming the Stratford Youth Centre.  

 

Beloved wife of Greg Duffy.  Loving mother of James (Hannah Jenkins) and Barrington and her furry friend Calli. Cheryl will be missed by her mother Anita Merriam; siblings Stephen, Greig (Myrna) and Valerie Barrington; father-in-law Gerard Duffy; brothers and sisters-in-law: Brian (Paulette), Mary-Beth MacDonald (Scott), Brendon (Maggie) and Anne Marie Hennessey (Ronnie). Cheryl is also remembered by her special friend and cousin Stephanie Mowry, her many family and friends in Ormstown, Quebec and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her father James Barrington and her mother-in-law Colleen Duffy (McCabe).

 

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford.  Due to current restrictions, a private visitation and funeral service will be held. Interment will take place later at Our Lady of the Assumption Cemetery, Stratford.

 

Memorial donations may be made to Stratford Youth Centre.
