Obituary of Joan Ellen MacDonald

The death occurred at her residence on Monday, June 1, 2020 of Joan Ellen MacDonald (Trainor) of Corran Ban in her 89th year. Beloved wife of 66 years to John "Jack" and loving mother of George (Karen), Helen (Buddy) Sutherland, Brenda (Pat) Murtagh, Joanne (Allan Morrison), Michael (Bernie Corrigan), Lennie (Carolyn) and Desi (Cathy). Much loved "Nanny" to 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Sister of Laurana Noonan, Gabriel (Marilyn) Trainor, Desmond (Freda) Trainor, Bennett Trainor, Joseph (Jean) Trainor, Brian (Ann) Trainor and Angela Monaghan. Sister-in-law of Elaine Trainor. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Everett and Helen (Condon) Trainor and siblings; twin brother - James P., Mary (Robert) Miller, Josephine (Joe) Tierney, Jeanette (Ivan) Clow, Thomas and Damien. Also predeceased by her brothers-in-law; Everett Noonan, Joe Monaghan, Hector (Blanche) MacDonald and sisters-in-law; Nellie MacIntyre, Courtney (Carrie) MacDonald, Nattie (George) Greenan and Imelda (Harold) McQuaid. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford. Due to current restrictions in place a visitation and funeral service will take place later. Interment in St. Michael’s Church Cemetery, Corran Ban. Memorial donations may be made to Arthritis Society (PEI) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of PEI.
