Obituary of Earl James Magennis

The death occurred peacefully on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of Earl James Magennis of Elliotvale, age 80 years. Beloved husband of 59 years of Marie Magennis (Fraser) and loving father of Jack, Dr. Terry (Doreen), Brian (Laura Lee), Cindy (Dean) McClumpha, Jo-Anne (Andy Luttrell), Tracey MacDonald (Darran). Loving Grampie to - Melissa Whalen (David), Kara Sansom, Alanna, Dr. Devin (Dr. Renee Amiro) and Liam Magennis, Hannah and Drew MacDonald; Great-Grandchildren - Emma, Addison and Madeline; brothers - Francis (Faye) and Leo (Brenda); sisters - Rosella O’Brien (Francis) and Helen Dunning, and special pet, Rudy. Brother-in-law of Gerard (deceased), Norbert and Jack Fraser and Betty Guest. He was predeceased by his parents Terrence and Marion Magennis, sister Rita MacIntyre and brothers Michael and Joseph. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joachim’s Church, Vernon River, on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Pat and the Elephant would be appreciated. Completion of funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
