Obituary of Genevieve Irene RN MacDonald

Peacefully, with grace, surrounded by her family, Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of Genevieve MacDonald of Glenfinnan, age 84 years. Beloved wife of Carl G. MacDonald and devoted mother of Catherine MacDonald, Mary-Carla MacDonald (Roch Boivin) and Matthew MacDonald (Chantelle). Mimi will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren - Garrett, Eleanore and Booklyn MacKinnon; Isabelle, Catherine and Simon Boivin and Alexander and Andrew MacDonald. She will also be remembered by her sisters - Sr. Wanda MacDonald, CSM and Anna J. MacDonald (Richard Duffy); brother - John A. MacDonald (Mona deceased) and her treasured nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John W. and Katherine (Katie Fraser) MacDonald, sisters - Elinor MacLellan, Donalda Pendergast, Sr. Katherine MacDonald, CSM and Etta Anderson. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation Monday, March 13, 2017 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Church, Fort Augustus at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at a later time. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Glenaladale Heritage Trust Inc. or the PEI Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The Charlottetown Hospital Nurses Alumni and the CWL will hold a prayer service prior to visitation at 1:30 PM. Completion of funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
