Obituary of Donald Stewart Stephens

Our family is deeply saddened by the loss of a wonderful husband, father and granddad, Donald Stewart Stephens of Stratford. Born April 7, 1950 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Don is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Angela (nee Sangster); son, Zachary Stewart Stephens (Jade Pollard); daughter, Joanna Julie Stephens (Jon MacInnis); grandchildren, Isaiah Stewart Stephens and Ezra Jeanette Stephens; sister, Bethany Miles (Gary); niece and nephews, Kaitlin Miles, Jeff Miles and Drey Fitzgerald. Predeceased by his parents, Jack and Zella Stephens; parents-in-law, Reid and Julie Sangster; and sister, Jacqueline Fitzgerald. Don practiced family medicine for 25 years and more recently worked in the OR at the QEH. Don spent many happy hours trail running. His greatest joy in life was his family. Above all else, Don was a man of profound faith. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4: 7 Visitation will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Central Christian Church, Kent Street, Charlottetown, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Central Christian Church at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to PEI Ground Search and Rescue, PEI Chapter of Canadian Mental Health and the Central Christian Church refugee fund.
