Obituary of Thelma O'Donnell

Peacefully and as we prepared for her 100^th birthday party at the Wisperwood Villa, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, the death occurred of Mary "Thelma" O’Donnell (Power) of Newtown Cross, age 100 years.  Loving mother of Charlotte (Al) Heidt, Gerard (Sharon), John (Thelma) and Libby (Gary). Cherished Nanny/grandma of Kyle, Jordan, Kristen, Melissa, Jeffery, Nicole, Ray, Christine, Colin and Steven. Thelma is survived by great-grandchildren Olivia, Dannielle, Mason, Morgan, Avery, Conner, Rory, Kelton, Aislyn, Tyla, baby LaPorte and Kira. Sister of Fabiola Doiron (Alyre). Sister-in-law of Jean Power. Fondly remembered and cherished by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Joseph; children Elmer, Francis and Dianne (Jamie); son-in-law Brian Rintoul and siblings Elmer, twins - Rose and Rita in infancy, Helen, Theresa, John, Elizabeth “Betty” and Edward. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home from where visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 am from St. Joachim’s Church, Vernon River. Interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made online to the Canadian Cancer Society. Thelma’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude for the care received at Whisperwood Villa.
