Dear Stephanie, it’s been a long time since I last saw your mum and dad. I worked with Joan at Southport pharmacy for a few years and met your dad through her. We were out to dinner with them once at friends in Brudenell. I was so sorry to read about your dad. I send you my love and sympathy.

Dear Johnston family,
My thoughts are with you. I have known Bob since the mid-1990s when he started working with AVC to help put on training for fish farmers near and far. He was great to travel with, always fun and a whirlwind of activity. As a young faculty member, I distinctly remember flying into Bangkok in 1997 (where he had organized a meeting with local universities and I was meeting him) and, as I was in line to go through passport control, I thought if they ask me who I am seeing while in Thailand, my only answer was Bob Johnston who I really hope is on the other side of this barrier. They didn't ask but Bob was there with every detail organized. Every time I saw Bob, on campus, on the golf course, in a restaurant, it was a joy. I will truly miss him. I have included a few photos from our trip to Malaysia in 1997 to put on a training course.

The Island lost a great citizen with Bob's passing. He was the kind of public servant that raised the bar for all. He was always fair minded and often made very difficult decisions, invariably in the best interest of all. Rest in peace, Bob. Our Island is a better place because of your service.

On behalf of the Team at The Olde Dublin Pub, we extend our sincere condolences to the family at this sad time. Bob was one of the very first customers I met when Kent and I purchased the ODP.
He was a part of a very special group of gentlemen who for decades spent Saturday afternoons at table 21 at 130. I was advised that he and they were preferred customers but I was unaware that no one else sat at that table after lunch on Saturday. I recall sitting customers at 110 on a Saturday and staff were quick to have me move them as “the boys” would be in soon!
I got to know him through the years and had such great respect for him as did our team.
We will remember him very fondly and May he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to Christine and all of Bob's family. I was so sad to hear that he had passed away. Bob and I worked
together at the Federal Government when I moved to PEI from Newfoundland in 1980. We became instant friends and shared many good times inside & outside the office. We kept in touch even when I returned to Newfoundland in 1983, over 40 years ago. I had the pleasure of going back to visit with him during those years. I valued his friendship over the miles. You could not meet a more kind, thoughtful and energetic man than Bob Johnston. He was my continuous link to PEI that I will miss.
God bless you Bob, May you sleep in heavenly peace.
