Sending all my love to the Greene family, and their extended families. Despite a lifetime passing between now and when I was a small part of their world, there was a time when I would have done absolutely anything for those kids. I am so very, very sorry for your loss. Heather will be the soft breeze on your nose when you step outside; she'll be the light melting snowflake on your cheek; she'll be the warm, gentle breeze on a summer's night; she'll be the brightest star in the night sky; she'll be the twinkle in your children's eyes... Rest peacefully, sweet Heather. I'll forever remember you as that bright young girl with the bouncy curls, warm heart, and big, beautiful smile.

So sad to hear of the passing of Heather. Sending condolences to Harrison, Nicole, Paul and family. Heather was a true friend and always said yes to every adventure we went on together. We spent numerous trips in the Okanagan camping, hiking and skiing together. She was also an amazing Physiotherapist and took such good care of her patients. I am so grateful we had then opportunity to share the moments we did together. Sending love to all family and Heather you will forever be in my heart.

It’s unbearable to know how to honor people through this space but I love to read what other people share so much so I will attempt my own tribute. I was trying to remember my first connection with Heath and Harrison and it was through a small group. I remember near the end of our weeks together they shared the amazing news of their first baby coming! I still didn’t know her that well but I thought I should go to her drive thru baby shower because her baby was born during the infamous year #2020 and she joyfully greeted all the cars and we as a church did our best to make her feel loved and supported! But where I got to hear her heart and know more of her faith journey was through Moms Group! She was in the first group I led with my sister and we all wore masks and I started calling her “Smiley Eyes” because I always knew even without seeing her smile that she had a huge grin on her face! She was perky and fun but I loved hearing her insights and she had a lot to share with us in her faith practices and insights as a brand new mom! I loved getting to know her over the years she attended Moms Group. I started asking her to be a greeter and she did that for me a few times on the first night to welcome new moms who were coming for their first time! It was no brainer to ask her! She was so naturally friendly and kind! I enjoyed a few one on one park dates with her even though our kids weren’t the same age and I loved that she initiated that with me and when she would say yes when I ventured ALL the way over to the Stratford splash park! I remember her bringing along Paul and enjoying connecting her to my other friends who she didn’t know but made herself at home with everyone! She was so smart and wonderfully positive! We grieved as a collective knowing she was going through this and knowing there was very little we could do to aid or ease her suffering but I was amazed at the response to her meal train. I am used to doing these through our church family but watching her neighbours and friends cover her for meals for months and doing laundry and helping out in so many ways… I’ve never observed that before!! And then I started seeing all the people she was connected to…all the love that was around her from her people. Her loving family walked with her and her friends all did our best to show up for her in the ways we could. During one of the fundraisers my sister made this beautiful watercolour for her. I had asked Heath if there was a verse that was speaking to her and she said this song was in her heart and now I will always think of her when I hear it. I am so glad for the many opportunities I had to send notes of love although I think I only saw her once in person after her diagnosis I am so thankful for that huge hug I got to give her and the many times I got to chat with her through fb messenger and even though I know she reserved her strength for her dearest inner circle she was so kind and every note I got back from her I was so thankful for. I love you Heath you are always Smiley Eyes now and I know Jesus welcomed you home… but we miss you so much here.
