Obituary of Mary Jean Handrahan

Peacefully with family by her side in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday November 10, 2023, the death occurred of Mary ‘Jean’ Handrahan of Charlottetown, aged 67 years. 

Born in Kingston, Ontario in January 1956, Jean was the eldest daughter of, and predeceased by, her parents John and Mary Maude Handrahan.  

Jean leaves behind: Brothers: Edward (Carol) of Charlottetown, and John of Ontario;  Sisters: Brenda and Francis of Charlottetown, and Marlene of Ontario; Nieces Samantha Kelley of Alberta and Kim Bulger of Charlottetown;  Nephews: Matthew and Michael Handrahan of Charlottetown; Great niece Grace Bulger of Charlottetown; and, her elusive but much loved rescue cat Nicky.

Jean worked for many years in the Medical Records department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

There will be no visitation or funeral as per Jean’s personal request.  Cremation and burial arrangements have been entrusted to the Hillsboro Funeral Home.

The family sends a special thank you to the amazing staff of Units 1 and 2 at QEH for their gentle care and compassion.
