I met Morris when he was involved with the Atlantic Ecumenical Council. I became secretary and I always appreciated his support and his dedication to ecumenism. It was through him that I had the opportunity to be part of the 2014 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity writing team and that experience has meant a lot to me. I had the wonderful fortune of having Morris as a father-in-law when I committed to his daughter Hope. Such a wonderful man - he opened his family, his life, and his heart to me, and in every way that mattered treated me as his son. He was a devout Catholic, and was always guided by the principle of helping others. And he did - in so many wonderful ways. His passing is heartbreaking, but also beautiful that he was surrounded by so much love when his time had come. My heart is filled with so much sadness that I couldn't say goodbye to him myself, but I am honoured and privileged that I was a part of his life for the past 23 years, and he a part of mine. - Patrick McCauley

Morris always had a smile on his face and jump to his step when he was assisting with all parts of Our Lady of Assumptions parish community. Was very sorry to read of the passing of Doddie. I got to know him in the early 70s when he was a coach/player with the MacLennan Chevies in the Metro League. He was a guy of great character and integrity. My deepest condolences to Frank, Freddy, and all of the MacIntyre Family.

My deepest sympathies to the family. I had Mr. McIntyre as a teacher at Birchwood school and I always thought highly of him. Many years later when I was a Registered Nurse at Beach Grove Home, I had the privilege of looking after Frances ,Doddies mother! Doddie would come every evening faithfully to the Meadow unit, around 7 PM and would be in the kitchen helping the staff pass out the snacks to the residents and if we were behind schedule,, he would start passing out snacks on his own! I have met Doddie many times since , and he always remembered my name until recently....but he always said hello and was so friendly. May he rest in peace. Mary Mitchell Dowling
