Peacefully, at Andrews of Park West on May 29, 2026, the death occurred of Heather H. Shaw (Jenkins) of Mt. Herbert, at the age of 78.

Beloved wife of 43 years to Kent Shaw, and loving mother of Michael (Suzanne). Cherished “Grammy” of Leith and Lincoln, Heather’s family was the center of her world. She will be deeply missed by her brothers, Athol Jenkins (Gladys) and Lowell Jenkins (Wilma); her sisters-in-law, Anne White (David) and Sandra MacDonald (Hughie); and by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Heather was predeceased by her parents, Hollis and Myrtle (Chandler) Jenkins.

Heather lived a life defined by compassion, kindness, and unwavering devotion to others. A graduate of the Prince Edward Island Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1970, she served as a Registered Nurse with dedication and care for many years. Her regular nurses lunches were some of her favorite outings with both her school mates and her Unit 4 coworkers. Heather’s nurturing spirit extended well beyond her profession, touching the lives of all who knew her. She was also a long-time member of the Women’s Institute.

Heather delighted in sharing stories of her adventures, from backpacking across Europe in her younger years to a very memorable family trip to Disney and numerous trips with family and friends. She cherished summers spent at the cottage, where she enjoyed many sails along the Montague River. Her love of music was a constant throughout her life. A devoted choir member, Heather dedicated more than 40 years to the Trinity Church Choir.

In recent years, Heather faced health challenges with remarkable courage and resilience. Through it all, she remained a steady source of calm and comfort to those around her, almost always smiling. Her faith was strong, her love for her family unwavering, and her kindness boundless.

Her family will forever treasure her gentle presence, her warm heart, and the countless ways she made their lives better. She will be missed more than words can express, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
