Obituary of Lawrence Alexander MacDougall
With heavy hearts, we share the passing on Friday, April 3, 2026 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of a truly remarkable soul, Lawrence Alexander MacDougall, who lived life with warmth, laughter, and an open heart.
He is survived by his eternal love and best friend, beloved wife Patricia and three sons; Johnathan, Luke and Jordan, daughter-in-law Molly, siblings Hughie (Priscilla), JoanAnne, Neil (Lucille), Eric, Bernadette (Mike) and Sandy (Heather) and a large extended clan. Fondly remembered by Patricia's family.
Predeceased by parents John and Theresa MacDougall; sister Elaine and parents in-law's Mattie and Tom Walker and by his brother-in-law Danny.
Lawrence had a gift for bringing smiles wherever he went, lighting up rooms with kindness and a spirit that made everyone feel welcome. Known for the very best hugs—strong, genuine, and full of love—he had a way of making people feel safe, seen, and cherished.
A proud Cape Bretoner, whose unwavering positivity reminded all who knew him to look for the good, hold onto joy, and never take a single day for granted.
His spirit will live on in every smile shared, every hug given, and every moment of kindness passed forward. Forever loved, forever remembered.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Gather together wherever you are, share stories, laugh, cry, sing, listen for the spoons, and hold him close in your hearts always.
Memorial donations may be made online to the Cancer Treatment Center of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
