Doreen Huestis

Obituary of Doreen Huestis

Doreen passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 30th, 2026.   She is pain-free at last, and she is at peace.

Doreen grew up on a farm in southern Ontario and moved to Calgary in 1995 where she enjoyed a successful career as a kitchen designer and met her husband Terry.    In 2007 they moved to Prince Edward Island.  You know what they say – Islanders always come home.   She was a valued board member of the Point Prim Lighthouse and was also on the board for Macphail Homestead for several years, including a term as President.

Unfortunately, after a fall on the rocks in 2015, Doreen suffered from intense headaches that became progressively more debilitating every year, profoundly impacting the quality of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband Terry, parents Henk and Jennie Bouman, sisters Bernice (Dave) and Jennifer (John) and brothers Rick (Inez), Glenn (Jorina) and Neil (Heidi) as well as numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She will also be dearly missed by her friend, Kim, as well as soul sisters Pao-Lien, SheLa, Laurana, Helena, Annali, and Sherry who were with her every step of the way on her journey home.  Also many other friends and acquaintances whose love and support has been so appreciated.

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home from where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 10:30am. The funeral service will be available for viewing after the service by clicking on the funeral video tab.
