Obituary of Paul Stanley Baker

Paul Stanley Baker (1961 - 2026)

Surrounded by the love and devotion of his family and the memories of a life well lived, it Is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Paul Stanley Baker, on March 6, 2026  after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Born on January 1, 1961, to Norma (MacQuarrie) and the late Stanley Baker, Paul found his greatest joy in the people and places closest to his heart.  Paul loved cutting grass, cooking a good meal especially a barbecue, and “tinkering” with anything mechanical.  He loved cars, Harleys, dirt bikes, jamming on the drums while Ty played guitar, playing a Nintendo game or two with Ty and the family’s trips to Cuba.  In 2024, Paul retired after 35 years of service from the PEI Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action and loved every minute of his retirement.

Survived by his loving wife Lena (nee MacNeill), his son Tyler and his daughter-in-law Jenna (nee Arbing) who brought him immense pride and happiness; his mother Norma (Graeme Armstrong); his sisters Beverley (Graham Rodd) and Barbara (Frank Morris) and his nephew Spencer (Megan Falle) and niece Rachel.  Paul is remembered as well by his sister-in-laws Sandra MacKay, Nancy (Alex MacBeath), Jackie (Ed Doiron) and nieces Patty (Earl White), and Amy MacBeath.

Predeceased by his father Stanley Baker, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Jack and Amy (Brehaut) MacNeill, his brother-in-law Wallace MacKay and nephew John MacKay.

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home from where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 1pm. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 5-7 pm. Interment later in Murray Harbour Cemetery.

At a time like this, always remember the infamous words of Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
