She is a such wonderful and special lady. She was my English tutor by IRSA's program and not like a regularly Canadian teacher(smile with tears)who always cheer and encourage my English, always say"great~good job Amor~".She didn't,she always point out all my mistakes quickly and stare at me,ask me even order me to correct it.So strict..after each lessons I always sweaty, but it was so helpful and useful for me.even we finished our program, she always do that by our mails...
She taught me a lot of Canadian culture, especially poem.both of us love it.The In Flanders Fields She taught me word by word.Last Nov 4,I recorded a video and sent it to her,she looks very happy with it.
She negotiated to IRSA,even we finished my lesson, she invited me as her assistant to help other newcomers. She gave me her synonyms book,to help with my poem. She always encouraged me to write poem. She invited my son to her drama program. She invited me to help her Saturday activity as a carpentry tutor. She invited my son and I went to her child play at bonshaw hall. She taught me let love lead and sort it out..being right isn't as important as being loving...
She is such a good lady..She's so kind to me.I still can't accept that we lost her.
May she rest in peace..

From a distance, on this day, I send my love to Ruth's loved ones.
On my mind, today as always, the record of our mysteriously meaningful time. We met on a sunny Ventimiglia border almost 60 years ago. You heading to Rome, bright eyes, red/black lumbar jacket, guitar, hair a cascade of sunlight, forceful, warm, joyous, steady, curious, welcoming, open, resolute. Thumbs-up, I followed you. We sang Donovan, Dylan, Baez and Mitchell along the way; read and misread each other on and between the lines; followed our paths and grew older together, apart, near and far. You Rome, London, PEI; your beloved Monica, Chiara, Daria, Maeve, Elena; all your marvellous work, about which I read on this memorial board; and your brave journey to heaven, evidently having left a deep imprint on this planet and on many hearts and minds.
Cara amica, "quiet silent with now."
Ti sia lieve la terra

Ruth will be remembered as a force who was smart but who led with her heart and didn't suffer trivialities. She helped others see the best in themselves. Though her home was a private haven rich in culture, she shared it with artists and seekers, especially the young. I won't forget Ruth. My condolences to her family, some of whom I've had the pleasure of meeting.

Ruth was always doing exciting and interesting things full speed ahead. It was hard to keep up. Unfortunately, I ended up living far away, but she made a point of visiting us many times,

I’ve known Ruth since the 1970’s and after our first meeting, I realized she was a very strong and determined person who would give more then 100% to any cause she believed in. Her passion for helping and working with Island youth was exemplary and continued throughout her professional life. She raised two very talented daughters and left this Island a better place.

Sending condolences to Ruth's daughters Monica, Chiara and their children, Ruth's brothers Lawrence and James and her ex-husband Luciano.
Ruth was an old school and church friend of mine when we lived in the Chipman area. We attended school and church choir at the same time. I have many fond memories of those days.
Thinking of you during this sad time. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I knew Ruth through my connection to South Shore United Church, and previously when we would have combined services at Bonshaw United Church. She had a beautiful and powerful voice in the choir and it was a pleasure to sing close to her. May you hear many stories shared that can only add to your treasured memories of her life.

My condolences to all the family. I am a member of the Kiwanis Club of Charlottetown and Ruth came to one of our meetings many years ago. She was our guest speaker that evening, looking for support for the Appin Road Day Camp. We supported the camp that year and for many, many years later. Anytime I seen her, she would always stop and have a chat about Kiwanis and the camp. What a lovely person and a great loss for everyone.

Ruth was my friend from school days in Chipman, NB. We were both involved in music festivals and teaching piano as we grew up. We kept in touch over the years and occasionally visited back and forth. Ruth was an amazing lady and cared deeply about fellow beings. RIP Dear Friend, until we meet again. Hopefully we can sing together in the same choir. Deepest sympathy to Ruth's family. She loved you all dearly.

Ruth and I worked together in London during the 70s and for a time she and Luciano lived with my family. I remember fun filled times with plenty of love. We managed to keep in touch for many years and I had the pleasure of getting to know Mon and Chi when they visited London.
A brave friend with a strong moral sense, kind and supportive I am sorry to hear of her death but so pleased to have known her.

Ruth delivered her unvarnished truth cheerfully and without hesitation . When she and some friends came to Expo '67 and stayed with my family in Quebec for a couple of nights, they arrived with knapsacks and blew in to drop their gear and get to eXPO. The spare room that we were giving them was my older brother's; he was away at Queen's University. His newly and proudly acquired chord organ was set up in that room. As the very musical Ruth flew by it, she eyed the instrument dubiously and sniffed:"Chord organ. Hrumph. Disapprove" We all stared at her open-mouthed, and startled by such swift and merciless judgement. However, recovery was quick and that became a family meme, "Chord organ, disapprove" that we all used for bad ideas and futile endeavours.

I enjoyed reading Ruth's obituary, as it filled in so many gaps for me. I knew Ruth through being the band teacher at EWS. She was always full of energy and seemed to suffer "slow pokes" poorly. Always concerned about others with an intensity and drive that left you scrambling to try and help. In later years she would show up regularly in spring looking for old "fixer uppers" that she would take to Reg Ballagh to try and get a few more notes out of them. All for use at her summer camps.

Ruth was been my neighbour ('4 doors down') for as long as I can remember. I smile when I think of her, because of her eccentricities... which made her so very unique. She was always so nice to me, and I am so sad to see her dark home and unplowed driveway when I walk by. Rest in peace, dear Ruth.

I attended Ruth’s camp in the mid 00s, acted with her in Murder in the Cathedral in the Indian River Music Festival, she taught me drama, piano and so much more. A true advocate and fighter for those around her. Nobody will ever be like Ruth, and it’s a great loss. Condolences to her family and all who knew and loved her.
