I met Gerri when my mother (Thelma Inman) was a resident at Whisperwood Villa for 1.5 years. As I visited Mom each evening, I would see Gerri double checking the doors at night, doing her regular indoor walk, participating in crafts (often displayed on her room door), being a regular participant at Saturday afternoon Bingo (always same table), nursing staff giving her drops in her eyes, and her daily faithful outdoor walk around the building, no matter what the weather, - often bundled up in her cap, mittens and heavy coat. We shared many, many conversations about the weather, travelling conditions in the winter, how slippery the walkway could be, the quality of music from that day's musical entertainment, how nice the day was in the summer, etc. She was a tall woman who had beautiful posture. Gerri was quiet in nature, but very friendly and quick with a smile. Gerri was a big part of Mom's (and mine) Whisperwood Villa life (before Mom moved to Beach Grove). She will be missed. May you hear many stories shared that can only add to your treasured memories of her life.

I first met Gerry ten years ago when her daughter Shannon and I became close friends. I remember her for her spunk, her devotion to her church, and her role as mother to a large family all of whom were the centre of her world. I always felt welcome in her home. She will be missed by her beautiful children, who are some of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met.
