Obituary of Mina Christine Walsh

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mina Christine Walsh (née Livingstone, formerly MacMillan), age 84 years. Mina passed away peacefully at her residence in Stratford, PEI, on Wednesday February 18, 2026.

Dear mother of Kathleen MacMillan (Stratford, PEI) and Stewart MacMillan (Sudbury, Ontario). Special aunt to Alan, Anne, Mary, Jane and Greg MacDonald; Lynn and Cynthia Livingston; Connie Jenkins, Ruth Dempsey, Shannon and Peter Gallup. Survived by her sister-in-law Adeline Livingstone.

Mina graduated from Mount Allison University with a Bachelor of Education degree and later obtained her Master’s degree. She spent most of her career teaching at Prince Street Elementary School, where her former students will fondly remember her as Mrs. MacMillan. She will be remembered by her lifelong friends, her bridge buddies, fellow teachers, and the many children whose lives she touched throughout her teaching career. Mina loved animals and will be greatly missed by her beloved feline companions.

Predeceased by her parents Donald and Lillian (Clarke) Livingstone of Hopefield, PEI; her husbands Gerald Walsh and George MacMillan, father of her children; brothers Don and Raymond Livingstone; sisters Shirley MacDonald (Gordon) and Kathryn Gallup (Ken).

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Derek Chaudhary, members of PEI Home Care and the Palliative Home Care Services, Kim Hammond, Chris Hogan, and all who provided care with kindness and compassion during Mina’s illness.

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home. By personal request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2026.
