I had the privilege of working alongside Seth for a number of years at EWS. His passion and care for his students' learning and lives was as apparent as it was abundant.
Few are those who possess the range of qualities that Seth exuded in his day to day life; he was kind, compassionate, charismatic, diligent, witty, athletic, intelligent, and humble.
Seth’s calm demeanour altered the dynamic of any room he entered and his quiet leadership was transformative in the classrooms he ran. His laugh was infectious. His words were always genuine. His steadiness was a beacon to his students- they always looked forward to being in his classroom and flourished under his mentorship.
More than anything, Seth walked this world with an indistillable love for his family and his smile ran from ear to ear whenever he would share stories about Piper or Petey.
Losing Seth so soon is unthinkably tragic, saddening, and unjust.

My sincerest condolences to the family. He truly was an amazing person. My homeroom class, grade 7 2017-2018. I had great memories of that class. I still remember him excitedly telling us about how him and his wife were having a baby girl, he even had as guess her name. What is incredible is how he never forgot a single student. My sister had found a stroller at Victoria park, taken it home and posted it to find who it belonged too. It was his, when he had showed up to get it he asked if my sister and me were related. I was surprised he remembered me. He had cared so much about his students, and you could really tell he did. He was one of the best. You will forever be missed and remembered.

The best substitute teacher growing up, but he was more than just a substitute teacher. He took the time to engage with his students and made us feel seen. He always wanted to know who we were beyond the classroom, asking about our interests, our lives, and our goals, and that curiosity made a lasting impact.
In this picture it had been about 5 years since he taught me and he recognized me, asked how my brother was doing and remembered my name, which shouldn’t be a big deal but considering all the kids he would have seen,met and taught over the years it really made me it a heart warming moment.

I had the pleasure of watching Seth as a fairly new teacher grow and develop into an incredibly gifted teacher. His depth of character was a shining example in his classroom as was his ability to connect with his students. As his confidence grew so did his influence on the lives of his students. He intuitively saw opportunities of “teachable”moments to build character in his students beyond those in the syllabus. I know what he meant to his colleagues and I know how much he will be missed. Seth taught my son at EWS who was so lucky to have him 2 years in a row. He made such an impact and to this day was his best teacher ever! Seth emailed several times in the years after teaching him to check in on him and always had words of encouragement. He always went the extra mile and to this day we never forgot the impact he made.

Looking at Seth’s beautiful face on this obituary is so heart wrenching!
My heart is broken in pieces for you Jalisa, Pete, Piper, Randy, Ester, Zach, Sara, Myrna & David along with so many other family members!
