My Sincere Condolences to Cindy, Wade, Brian, Michelle,Ava and all of Mary's family and friends. She was a good cousin and friend to me. She always welcomed me, no matter when I arrived without notice. And if they were in the middle of a meal she had a chair pulled to the table while she got another plate. I had the honour of getting to know Mary better when I spent a week with Cindy, Michele, and Ava in PEI last summer. She was feisty and funny, and reminded me so much of my own mom, who had passed a few years earlier. One particular memory is when we went to a play and Mary and I slipped out for a smoke during intermission. I listened in awe as she struck up a conversation with a couple standing nearby—probing and questioning until she uncovered the neighbour, cousin, or uncle who was their shared connection. A true Maritimer in action. A grand lady who will be sorely missed.
