Ray and I started Grade One at Cross Roads one room school together and were good friends all the way through school. Our tight knit little community was a playground for us to ride the roads on bikes and explore with other kids. He was a great player at our impromptu baseball and soccer games and a pal to everybody. I am sorry to see he passed so soon and my condolences to the loved ones he leaves behind.

Growing up on Tea Hill, my father often bought berries from the Stewart family, and on the rare occasion I ran into you or "Skip", there was always a friendly hello and a chat. Even though miles separated us, our cousin was never far from our hearts. We cherished our chats—the laughter, the stories, and the way time seemed to disappear when we talked. And when we were lucky enough to visit, those moments were truly special, filled with warmth and joy that we will always treasure. Every down-home visit, surrounded by relatives, wrapped us in a love that was deep, genuine, and unforgettable. Uncle Sterling especially cherished the drives they took together with Skippy, heading out to those secret fishing holes—places whose locations were promised to remain just that: a secret, forever kept. These memories remind us that family isn’t measured by distance, but by love. Their kindness and presence meant so much to us, and he will be deeply missed.
