Obituary of Louise Johnston

Surrounded by the love of family and friends, G. Louise Johnston passed away peacefully the morning of January 20, 2026, at the age of 53.  Louise lived her life on the Suffolk Road and could often be seen walking or biking the area and along the North Shore, which she loved. 

Louise was pre-deceased by parents Mark and Charlotte (Cairns) Johnston and brother Douglas.  Left to mourn are brothers Fred and Frank (Shirley), and sister Beth and numerous cousins.   She enjoyed spending time with her nephews and niece – William (Ashley), Ross (Kate) and Katherine (Andrew) and, in later years, her great nephews and great niece.  Louise also had many special friends who mourn her loss. 

Louise had a love of travel and visited many countries.   She had a zest for life and even with her health struggles, found joy in so many things.   

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Unit 8 at the QEH and the Palliative Care Centre in Charlottetown for their expert and compassionate care and support.   

A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Hillsboro Funeral Home in Stratford, PE.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made online to the QEH Foundation and Central United Church Cemetery Fund (York-Covehead Pastoral Charge).
