Obituary of Paul Joseph Gallant
Peacefully, and surrounded by family that meant the world to him, Paul Gallant passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at the age of 82 years. Paul will be lovingly remembered for his passionate devotion to his family, who were always at the center of his life. In 1967, Paul met Judy Doble, and together they went on to marry and raise three children. They shared a long, loving life, surrounded by many close family members and friends who meant so much to them. The bond Paul shared with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was truly beautiful. He touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, warmth and outgoing nature. Paul was a generous friend and possessed an uncanny ability to connect with just about anyone. He was a loyal friend to many, maintaining close and meaningful connections through countless phone calls and Messenger chats that kept laughter, stories, and support flowing right up until the end. Music was one of Paul’s greatest joys, and he generously shared that love with his family and friends. He played guitar and bass for 70 years, most recently jamming with his fun-loving Tuesday Tunes group, where his talent and enthusiasm continued to shine. A dedicated sports fan, Paul never missed a game, faithfully cheering on the Blue Jays and the Montreal Canadiens—though he occasionally, and quietly, rooted for the Leafs. Paul was also known for his deep compassion for his community and his unwavering desire to help others, no matter the situation. He had a rare gift of building community wherever he found himself. Always motivated by his love for his family and friends, his kindness, music, and steadfast presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Loving father of Doug (Crysta), Jamie (Trish) and Sue. Cherished grandfather of Jessi (Jimmy), Dani (Sam) and Emily (Tyler). Adoring great-grandfather of Gwen (Baylee), Sam and Olive. Paul will be greatly missed by his siblings Mary, Frank (Alana), Chip (Alma), Bill (Melodie) and Lucy. Lovingly remembered by sister-in-law Marj, the entire Doble family and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is now reunited with his parents, Arthur and Reta, his brothers Arthur and Harold, and many other beloved family members.
While his passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, Paul’s spirit, kindness, and love will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of all whose lives he touched. “The family would like to sincerely thank Dr Hennessy, Dr Murphy and the staff of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for their compassion, care, and support".
