Obituary of Marie Lillian Connolly

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 15, 2026 at 10:30 am

from St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church,

interment to follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.

It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marie Lillian Connolly (nee Redmond) of Charlottetown on Tuesday December 9, 2025 at Dr John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge, age 87. She will forever be missed by her loving daughters Shelly Wilkie (David) and Lisa Harrick (Myles); her grandsons Kyle Wilkie (Mallory), Ryan Wilkie (Tara), Tyler Wilkie (Megan), Tanner Harrick, and great grandson Austin Wilkie. She is also survived by her siblings Lorraine Costello (Kevin), Gail MacDonald and many nieces and nephews.

Marie was predeceased by her parents Lorne and Theresa Redmond and her mother and father in-law James and Helena Connolly. She is also predeceased by her loving husband James Connolly, her two sisters Phyllis Cullen and Joyce Kelly, and her brothers Joe, Henry and Edward Redmond.

Marie was born on May 15th, 1938 in Charlottetown, PEI. She was known for playing cards, attending bingo and watching her family’s horses race. She spent 5 years living in Alberta with her daughter Lisa and enjoying the “wild wild west” as she would say.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Gillis Lodge for the excellent care that they provided for their mother.
