Obituary of David Grinstead

David Harry Ephraim Grinstead, 68, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, November 21, 2025.

Born in Woking, Surrey, U.K., David carried with him an unmistakable witty British sense of humour and a warm, engaging spirit wherever life took him. His work brought him around the world, and he embraced every journey with curiosity, a love of good food and wine, and an appreciation for the little experiences that make life memorable.

David is survived by his devoted wife, Elsa, and beloved daughter, Claire, who were his greatest sources of pride. He is predeceased by his parents, Harry and Doris Grinstead, and French Bulldog, Edna.  David will be missed by his in-laws Francesco and Ada Esposito, brother-in-law Rick (Michelle) Esposito, and dear uncle to Frank and Ava Esposito. Also his U.K. family - brother John (Wannie) Grinstead, and nieces Holly and Lucy Grinstead.

David had an enduring love of cars, loyalty to the Leeds United football team, and a soft spot for his cherished cat, Janet. In his final years, he found profound peace and joy in the beauty and serenity of Prince Edward Island, where he was able to spend his last days surrounded by family including (uncle Ed and aunt Nora) and the landscapes that reminded him of the U.K.

David will be remembered for his warmth, humour, gentle strength, and the many stories he collected and shared along the way. His presence will be deeply missed and lovingly cherished.
