I was very fortunate to grow up under the shadow and reputation of my uncles. Everywhere I would go, I was asked, "Are you related to those McGee boys from St Mary's Road?". I would respond, "Yep, they are my uncles.". I would chuckle to myself because I ALWAYS knew what was coming next. "They are those wrestling boys and they are TOUGH as nails!". I would respond, "Yep, they sure are!!!!" Louis and the boys had rooms full of medals, trophies, and accomplishments that would make anyone awestruck. I remember Lou, Dan, and Doug coming to my elementary school one time to put on a clinic for the kids. I was so proud. I felt like the coolest kid in the school.
Louis was not only one tough son of a gun and the true meaning of a fighter in every sense of the word and in life. He was a very cool, compassionate, fun loving uncle. He had this cool red Buick with a collection of eight track tapes that included Queen, Rod Stewart, Meatloaf. He would take me for these awesome drives, we would speed, rip through the back roads, and blare the music. He would let me steer or drive his car in the back fields even when I barely could see over the steering wheel.
Lou, I will be forever indebted to you for your caring, helping hand, and dedication to my dad. In over 30 years of fishing, you were always there EVERY year doing the work of two or three men. I will always remember and cherish the jokes, the laughs, the pranks you pulled on Gene, your stories of fishing with Cyril and tales of running the roads with you brothers and friends.
Our thoughts and prayers to everyone.... Especially, Courtney and Chantal..

Dear Court and Chantie, I send my deepest love and sympathy to you both and your families. When Louie spoke about you it was always with pride and love. He spoke fondly and cherished the times you all spent together at the cottage every year. I hope you find some comfort in knowing how much your father loved you both and adored his beautiful grandchildren.
Louie, I can’t believe I won’t hear your voice anymore. You will be missed and loved forever.

I'm so very sorry to hear of the terrible loss of Louis. He will be missed dearly by all his family. Louis meant so much to me and was instantly a friend the moment I met him and soon looked up to him like an older brother. There will be many tears, followed by smiles and laughter thinking of all the great memories left behind for us.
Here's a little memory where I always smile when I think of it or tell it. I was at Mildred and James' house for a beautiful dinner. The table in the the warm kitchen was surrounded by smiles and much laughter as we were about to enjoy this beautiful meal. James and Mildred were seated in their usual places around the table. Di was in back corner, next to Mildred and I was next to Di and then Louis. It was a great meal with lots of stories. Now, time for dessert. It was a cake with thick, I think, brown sugar frosting that I love. I carefully ate the cake leaving the frosting as my last bite of the meal. Just as I was about to put my fork into the frosting, Louis reached over, with those big hands, grabbed my frosting and ate it. He had this big grin on his face that I'll never forget. ha..ha..
It's such a simple little memory that I love so much, and I loved him.
My sincere condolences to Louis' Family and friends
