Karen & I met on the ferry when we were children. My mom suggested that we get each other's address and become penpals. That was over 50 years ago. We grew up , married, had babies, lost parents... I lost my son, she lost her Lornie ... always there for each other from afar. This photo was taken at our home in Maine when she & her hubby Lornie came to visit. I will truly miss my dear friend Karen. I am so very sorry for her three children and her granddaughter for the loss of this beautiful woman.

I am so sorry to hear of Karen's passing. Back in the early 1980s, Karen and I became penpals. We shared precious memories about our children as they grew, recipes, and general news where each of us lived. We have stayed in touch all these years and though never got to meet in person, I felt I knew her and her lovely family pretty well. Karen is with Lornie now. I pray comfort and peace for Ben, Rachelle, Melanie and all the family.

I am so very sorry to hear of Karen’s passing. She will be so missed by all. However , Karen is with her beloved Lorne . The love of her life. Karen was one of my very first friends in PEI . She was so welcoming & kind . She really helped me to fit in. I will always remember Karen for that. Her love of gardening, cooking & crafts were enjoyed by all. Karen loved games & entertaining. She made life a little brighter for all the people who knew her. You will be so missed by all.

I am heartbroken to hear of dear Karen's passing.We spoke to one another on Facebook a couple of weeks ago.She was excited to show me her new pad, as she called it. We had a date for the end of the mnth and I was to show up with treats in hand. I will miss her greatly .She was one of a kind.❤️

Karen and Lorne were an amazing couple. The love they shared shone everyday. The hours we spent in the gazebo were full of great treats and laughter. But to her children, Karen was a shero. heart of gold. One of those people you feel so blessed to know. She was so proud of you!!! Franky and I are so sorry for your loss.
