I was saddened to hear of the passing of Pat. She was my nursing classmate and every summer we all met for lunch when I was visiting the Island (except this past summer when she was ill). We will miss her.

Dear Lynn& Shawn, Jenna & Erin, I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to meet your wonderful Mom. She was such a gracious hostess and great conversationalist. Her love of her family was obvious- who goes to watch rollerskating just to spend more time with her daughter & granddaughter? Her love lives on in all of you. Sending my deepest sympathy to you all. Remembering how welcoming both Pat and George where to Harold and I when Mike and Pam got together. Christmases spent together were special, lobster sandwiches on Christmas Eve and the great Christmas dinner ending with Pat’s plum pudding and always an outing to Churchill’s. We were blessed to have them as friends. Will always remember Pat as I saw her last week dressed in pink, sitting up in bed and putting on makeup. Later we discussed her favourite recipes. Rest easy Pat they will be used in the future.

We wish to extend our condolences to Mike, Lynn and families. When we were younger we were fortunate to spend many great times with them in their celebrations. Warm memories of a Pats many talents, one in particular I continue to wear 45 + years later - an incredible sweater. Another with George and fishing with great lunches. Age has seen us all become more insular but fortunately memories persist. Rest well Pat. Bill and Joyce Oulton

So sorry to read of Pats passing. Pat took me under her wing when I started nursing on unit 2. I was 7/10 evenings and did a lot of my shifts working alongside this amazing woman. Charting with treats Pat made to nibble on or the plums she shared. She was a fabulous support to a new graduate. Her patience with staff and clients was endless as well as her compassion.
