Obituary of Emmett Weatherbie

We regretfully announce the passing of John “Emmett” Weatherbie in Grand Falls, Newfoundland on Friday, Sept 12, 2025 at the age of 69 years.  Son of Betty and the late John Weatherbie. Beloved husband Linda Higgins. Dear father of John Weatherbie (Melissa), Crystal Taylor (Ryan), Ken Higgins (Darlene) and Andy Higgins (Nancy). Grandfather of Jack and Alex Weatherbie; Tessa and Clara Taylor; Stephanie, Glen, Courtney and Kennedy Higgins and Merissa and Jessica Gater. Brother of David Weatherbie (Diane) and Mary-Lou Weatherbie. Predeceased by his son Danny Higgins, brother Roy and step father William Grant.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025 from the Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford at 2 pm.  Interment in Pownal Cemetery.  

A recording of the Memorial Service will be shared online later the same afternoon.
