Obituary of Billy Wight

William D. “Billy” Wight, born August 21, 1943 in Georgetown, PEI, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025 at his home in Stratford with his loving wife, Wendy, by his side. 

Billy will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.

He leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Wendy, sons Kerry (Maureen), Ray and Daryl and their families. Dear brother-in-law of Dale (Diane) Acorn, Darlene (Mike) Rogers, Sheila (Jamie) Taylor, Wade (Glenda) Acorn and Mark (Holly) Acorn.

Predeceased by his parents, Neil and Stella, son Darin, brother Donnie and parents-in-law, Matt and Georgina Acorn.

A private family visitation was held at Hillsboro Funeral Home and a private graveside service was held at Saint James Roman Catholic Cemetery in Georgetown, PEI.

The family would like to thank hospitalists Dr. Jane Hennessey and Dr. Aimee MacKenzie, his GP, Dr. Ambrose Kennedy, respite providers (especially Tara Burns), the staff of Home Care/Palliative Care - Queens County, Father Jim Willick, Father Andrew MacDonald and Shawn MacLean (Hillsboro Funeral Home).

If so desired, donations in memory of Billy may be made to Home Care/ Palliative Care - Queens County.
