When I first started to take pictures and give them to the riders, Monique then Christine and MJ would very kindly spend a few minutes with me, help me go through the pics (it was film back then) and ID people that I was not sure of. Monique once said to me "We need Christine" as we were trying to figure people out. I said something about "will she know the people better"? Monique answered "Not necessarily..but she does know the horses". My response "There are 32 of them and, except for a snip or a star or a sock on the near hind or the far foreleg, they are all black. Can she really tell ALL of them apart?" Monique said "Yes" and she was so right.
One night at the Sunset Ceremonies, Christine did the Skills Demonstration. She nailed every part of it. She was so happy when she caught the ring and then she hit the tent peg perfectly. Cheryl and another woman rode after her and they all completed every part of it. Christine, Cheryl and the other woman (my apologies I cannot recall her name) surely inspired some young people in the crowd to think about a future with the R.C.M.P. and the Musical Ride.
She was such an incredible person with people and animals, joyful, helpful, bright and loving. She always talked to me about her progress with "T". She adored working with that horse.
My sister, Debbie, and I would like to offer our condolences to all of Christine's loved ones.

Sending prayers, love and sympathy to Bob,Don, Pam,Jennifer and all Christine’s family in this heartbreaking news. Our first memories of Christine was at a fair, we were new to this but Don and Pam were expertly showing a six and she and Jennifer were in a playpen. She certainly had horse blood in her veins at an early age. I am not surprised at her accomplishments in life.Treasure the memories.

There are simply no words to express how sorry I am for you Bob, Donamar, Pam and Jennifer. Christine had DNA to be with horses just like her dad. I remember when Christine and Jennifer were young babysitting them when I believe it was the 19th Ave. that you lived on. Watching them at Markham Mower As little girls and then both growing up into beautiful Women. Christine was so successful in life and so young, it just doesn’t seem possible that she’s gone. May God give your family strength to get through this extremely sad time of your lives.

I want to send my condolences to Christine's family and friend. I only met Christine but I have met her father and her Uncle Richy was at our family home many times. I'd like to say that our oldest daughter, Constable Jackie Tessel was inspired by Christine but she didn't even know that she was entering the same line off work as her distant cousin. My father was Morley Johnson, cousin of Merle Johnson. Christine will always have a warm spot in Jackie's and our hearts. And horses will always be our connection.

Christine was creative, smart, talented and kind. She never waited for ‘things’ to happen - she MADE things happen through hard work and her insatiable desire to learn. I am so grateful we were colleagues on the Ride, who became friends. Her sense of humour was quick, her love of horses was in her DNA. Christine has left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Deepest condolences to Bob, her parents and sister - and to all who had the honour to know her. Ride on ‘Tribbles’.

Bob and Christine’s family,
I was blessed to have got to know Christine when I worked at HQ in Ottawa. Christine was in a different section but we were only a couple rows from each other. I instantly enjoyed chatting with Christine and we solved many issues at “the pole” which was in my cubicle. We shared many laughs and had great conversations which I will say helped me get through some of the days working at HQ! Christine had a huge heart and was the person behind the idea to have a vehicle parade past our house when we retired in June 2020. Covid protocols were in place, so this was the next best thing to a party!
You will all miss her passion for life and her cheerful disposition, hold your memories close and remember you have the best guardian angel looking over all of you ❤️

Christine and I have been friends since we were 6yrs old at Uxbridge Public School. We bonded over a mutual love of horses, and stayed close even when life and careers took us in different directions. It didn't matter if we spoke once a month, or once a year, we always picked up right where we left off. Christine was great at sharing stories over a cup of tea, and usually containing the word "frig" followed by at least one old fashioned phrase. She was not shy to share her opinion, often with her sharp sense of humor and a twinkle in her eye. She was the first of our little group to retire and I was looking forward to many visits with her and Bob on their little farm. This is truly heartbreaking. My condolences and big hugs to her family and all of her many friends.
