Obituary of Doris Hendricken

Mom passed away peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on June 13, 2025. She will be forever carried in the hearts of her children - Shawna (Jack), Faye, and Barbie; her loving grandchildren - Katie (Josh), Will, Harrison, and Teri Fallon; and her great-granddaughter Ruby, whose recent addition to our family brought such joy.

She leaves behind a legacy of love as mother-in-law to Angela Kelly-Ferguson; sister to Parnell Trainor (Sandra); sister-in-law to Hilda Trainor and Cecil Taylor.

With great faith, Mom is now celebrating a heavenly reunion with our brother Terry; our grandparents Willie and Mary Trainor; Uncle Earl, Aunt Rose; Auntie Barb; and our dad Phelan.

Mom’s proudest moments were rooted in the love of family and her calling as an elementary school teacher. She cherished her extended family, her friendships, her students and left a lasting mark on all the lives she touched.

In keeping with her wishes, visitation will take place at Hillsboro Funeral Home on Wednesday June 18 from 4-6 pm, with a Funeral Mass at St. Pius X church on Thursday, June 19 at 10 am. Interment in Mt. Ryan Cemetery.

 

 “Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ral".  It means “Goodbye, I’ll be seeing you”. And you’ll be seeing me in country lanes, woods, and ditches. I’ll be picking lupins, lilacs, mayflowers, and pussy willows; enjoying every rose given and received; and singing and dancing at Ceilidhs, the music of Ireland.
