Obituary of Dinie Speelman

Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, May 16, 2025 the death occurred of Berendina “Dinie” Engelina Speelman (Hillen) of Uigg, age 88 years.  Loving mother of Siemen (Wendy), Rick (Rachel), Diana Kuipers (Ron) and Cynthia. Dinie will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren - Amanda (Jonathan), Andrew (Jennifer), Rachel (Aaron), Crystal, Stephen (Jessica), Ian, Justin, Scott (Cindy), Michael (Jennifer), Travis (Morgan), Veronica (Iain), Joyce (Ben) and Michelle (Thomas) and by her 18 great grandchildren. Dinie will be missed by her sister Jannie Tuenter and sister-in-law Henny Hillen from the Netherlands. Dinie was predeceased by her husband Andries “Andy” Speelman; her daughter Wilma Speelman and siblings Jan, Gerrit, Annie, Henk, Wim, Benny, Willemien and Piet. Transferred from Hillsboro Funeral Home to the Christian Reformed Church, 153 Mount Edward Road, Charlottetown for visitation Monday, May 19, 2025 from 4-7 pm. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Uigg Community Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made online to the Uigg-Kinross-Grandview WI or the PEI Right to Life Association.
