Frances and Wendell were great neighbors - always there to support a neighbor who needed their help. Frances was a strong soprano and a valued member of our four-part harmony choir while I played organ at Hampshire United many years ago. Frances was indeed a firecracker! When we were kids going to Dr. Ellis office in Hunter River she would always greet us with a smile. She always had that sparkle in her eye. Always the picture of professionalism in her Nurses white with cap and shoes. She pierced my ears with an ice cube and needle when I was in grade one. A memory that is still sharp. When Mom (Jean) moved into town after being a neighbour,friend and fellow T. O. P. S. Member, I was so happy to hear that Frances was also moving into the same building. After 61 years of living in a house that mom never wanted to leave, it made the move so much easier knowing that she would have a partner in crime directly above her. Those two giggled and laughed so much and so loud the other tenants would come to see what the commotion was. We grieve with you Gary,Bennett and Susan and your entire family. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of this wonderful lady. I have not seen Frances for quite some time but I will always have the memory of her being a nurse in Hunter River. When I was younger and had to have my blood taken she would always treat me with such dignity as she knew I was so scared of needles. She would always laugh and be so gentle. She was the only nurse I can ever remember wearing the complete nursing uniform, cap and all. Memories of her will always be close to my heart as she was such a beautiful person. Thoughts and prayers.
