My Grandad was a great guy, everyone said so. I have a lot of great memories with him and my grandma. He treated my brother and me like sons. Our suppers were always full of laughter and we always played charades afterwards. He had a good sense of humour, he was always joking around with us. He was a great storyteller, I would sit and talk with him for hours.
One time I asked him “how are you so wise”
His response “because I messed up so many times”
This always stuck with me because I didn’t see the mess ups, I just saw my grandad and his life was great.
He gave me the permission to fail as long as you still try and be a good man.
To Grandad, you will be missed but not forgotten.
My condolences to Grandma, Dad, Dave, and the rest of the family.

Sadden to hear the passing of my Uncle Don.Though Uncle Don is no longer with us, his laughter, love, and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Uncle Don had fulfilling career in radio, becoming a well-known figure in the industry. He held numerous roles, but his most notable position was as News Director at CHFI, where his voice and dedication touched many lives. One of my most cherished memories was the trip I took with the Wilson family to Prince Edward Island. The laughter, stories, and experiences shared during that trip created lasting memories that will forever be treasured.
Rest in peace Uncle Don. aka Mr Mississauga

Marlo and family,
We were very sorry to hear of Don's passing. Over past five decades or so since we first met you and Don we enjoyed any opportunity that we had to get together. Especially fondly remembered are some of the evenings we got out for dinner and had a remarkable time talking about some of the situations and experiences that we shared or had in common through our working careers. The last three years that Don worked at the Veterans Review and Appeal Board his office was next to mine and we had many discussions about both our work and many other common interests. He will be missed!

Myself and E.J. were saddened to hear of the passing of my Uncle Don. I have many fond memories of Sunday dinner get togethers and visits to PEI. Back in the day when he was on the radio I would come home from school for lunch and listen to his broadcast. Uncle Don always had great stories to share and had the most wonderful infectious laugh. He always enjoyed a good joke and could be counted on for a quick witted response to any statement or situation. His sense of humour was only one of his remarkable qualities. When I was younger he would call me "Frank Rank" as I was more interested in the activities the boys were doing than the girls. My thoughts are with my Aunt Marlene and my cousins Jim, Dave and Jeff and their families at this difficult time. Uncle Don will be remembered for the laughter and the smiles he brought to everyone he knew.

Herb and I were saddened by Don’s passing. In 2019, we tagged along on a cruise with James & Patsy, along with Don, Marlene, Jeff (Micelle) and David. Don was such a kind, lovely man and very funny. Herb especially enjoyed his and Don’s chats from life experiences, world events and everything else in between. It was our pleasure to have known Don. Sending our sincere blessings to Marlene & family.

2019. On a ferry in British Columbia our family decided to play hide and seek as "adults" in the pouring rain. This photo pretty much captures who we are and we're all grateful that he was able to provide and share a life of laughter together. Drive carefully, Dad.

I remember when I was around 14 and had a purple budgie named Perp (fitting name). Perp was dying and my father was trying to save it with some whisky. Unfortunately it didn't work but at least dad got him drunk and sent Perp on his next adventure.
