Hello Rick and Family, I am Debbie's first cousin Janey Turner. I was so saddened to hear of Debbie's passing from our cousin Bud. I am so very sorry for your family's loss, I had hoped to get back East again and try to connect with Debbie and other family members. My father Paul was Uncle Tom's younger brother, #6 in the birth order and the last of the nine children to pass in July 2024, at age 97. Debbie is the only one of Tom's and Leah's children that I haven't seen since 1966 when my father moved us from Windsor, NS to Victoria, BC. I have fond memories of heading from Windsor to Halifax to stay with Tom and Leah, Judy, Marilyn, Debbie and Theresa. I remember Debbie so well with her beautiful reddish blonde hair and a knock out smile. She was quite close in age to my sister, Jo-Ellen who passed of breast cancer in 1994. Our dear mom Phyllis died in March 2018 at age 95. I am the last of the Turner clan out here. I have a wonderful husband, Alan married 39 years, a son Matt (Caitlin) Sam (15) & Seth (13), and daughter Laura (Curtis) Ryan (17), Owen (15) and Charlotte (13). My favourite scripture is Roman 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. It did not matter when you stopped in to visit the Richard family, you were always greeted by Debi with a big hug and a big beautiful smile. I offer my sincere condolences to Rick, his children and his grandchildren. I first met Debi when I was invited, many years ago, to join her on the CWL Spiritual Committee. We worked very well together as we strived to bring faith related spiritual programs to CWL members. Debi was the one to have the best suggestions and guidance for these programs. There are no words to describe how my faith and faith related knowledge has matured and grown since joining Debi on the Spiritual Committee. It was a privilege and a gift to me to work with Debi and I will always cherish her memory and try my best to share her example of faith. Thank you Debi.
